Soar Valley Chuffers: part engineering society, part social group, part excuse to play with trains well into adulthood, the Chuffers are united by one noble purpose: to celebrate all things train related, from perfectly detailed model layouts to the mighty roar of real steam engines.
The Chuffers take model railway building very seriously, but when the urge to see actual full-sized trains becomes too strong, the Chuffers hit the rails themselves. They regularly visit live steam railways, indulging in the sights, sounds, and smells of heritage. The Chuffers attend model railway exhibitions too, as enthusiastic gawkers.
Back on home turf, the Chuffers host talks and demonstrations on everything from DCC systems to railway history.
For the Soar Valley Chuffers, trains aren’t just a hobby - they’re a way of life.
