Christmas Party 2025
Committee
Soar Valley u3a is run by a Committee, the members of which are elected each year at the AGM.
Details of your current committee can be found here.
Communication with Members
Our principal methods of communication with members are emails, the newsletter issued four times a year, general meeting announcements, messages via group contacts and this website.
Please do take note of all emails you receive from us and download the newsletter to keep up to date with important announcements, including subscription renewals.
For security purposes, all general emails to members are sent bcc (blind carbon copy) so no circulation list will appear at the top.
Members who are not online receive a printed copy of the newsletter four times a year.

Your Contact Details
Please do ensure that the contact details we hold for you are up-to-date. If you change your email address or any other contact details, please notify the Membership Secretary.
Please also ensure that we have up-to-date Emergency Contact details for you, so that we know who to get in touch with in the event that you experience an accident or medical problem while taking part in any u3a activity.
Group Contacts are reminded that New Member Packs for any new members who join their Group are available from the Membership Secretary.
Get Involved
Soar Valley u3a is run by members, for members. Please do get involved in any way you can, whether it be in assisting with refreshments at meetings, being a Group Contact, or even offering to join the Committee. Your help will be greatly valued.
To talk about setting up a new group, please contact the Groups Coordinator.
To discuss how you can get involved in any other way, please contact any member of the Committee.
Code of Conduct
Members are expected to adhere to our Code of Conduct, which can be viewed here.

Social Media
You can follow us Facebook, and you can also join our private Facebook group for members.
Transport to General Meetings
A number of members have volunteered to give lifts to Normanton on Soar Village Hall to those who do not have their own transport and would like to attend General Meetings.
Anyone requiring a lift should first contact the Chair, who will provide a contact telephone number for transport from one of the following areas.
- Loughborough
- Shepshed
- East Leake
- Sutton Bonington
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a u3a provided transport service, nor should it be treated as a "paid for" taxi service. Places are limited, according to availability of volunteers.
Minutes
Minutes of General Meetings and the AGM held during the past twelve months can be found here.
Minutes of other meetings relating to Soar Valley U3A (including Committee, but not Groups, or other activities) may be obtained from the Minutes Secretary.
