Alex is now a regular cruise ship speaker but back in 1975 he joined the Blue Peter programme at the BBC and became its producer for 36 years. Over that time he has built up a wealth of interesting and amusing stories to tell us - John Noakes climbing Nelson’s Column, encounters with an erupting volcano, gorillas in Uganda and Lulu the baby elephant running amok in the studio - to name a few.

And he’s bound to have a view about how the BBC has changed and what the future might hold.
